Central European Jazz Showcase launched at Husa na provázku Theatre in Brno on November 28 – 29, 2021, offers a chance to twelve young Czech and Austrian bands to present their music to international professionals. Showcasing bands will perform in front of international delegates such as program directors of festivals, music clubs, concert halls and journalists. Showcase is loosely connected to 2018 Central European Jazz Competition for young jazz bands organized by JazzFestBrno in cooperation with its long-term Austrian partner Jazzwerkstatt Poysdorf.

Showcasing bands will be selected by expert jury composed of both Czech and European representatives of jazz community.

CEJS aims to increase the number of opportunities for meeting, comparing and exchanging experiences of young jazz musicians and to expand possibilities for presenting their music to the audiences on both sides of the border.

The CENTRAL EUROPEAN JAZZ SHOWCASE project is supported by the Small Projects Fund Austria – Czech Republic as part of the INTERREG V-A Austria – Czech Republic programme. The project is organized by JazzFestBrno o.p.s. in cooperation with Jazzwerkstatt Poysdorf.
