Pacora Trio

The music they create is enriched with elements of jazz improvisation at the interface of jazz and folk music. The PaCoRa Trio consists of three experienced musicians – violinist Stanislav Palúch, dulcimer player Marcel Comendant and double bass player Róbert Ragan. The music of the trio is based on the intertwining of jazz and folklore. Their repertoire includes original arrangements as well as their own compositions. The three PaCoRa Trio members recorded their first Pacora Trio CD in 2005. Shortly afterwards, the CD received a positive response at home and abroad (4-star rating in the prestigious BBC Music Magazine – June 2006). The second CD called Fugit Hora was released in 2012. While the first album is more jazz with a folk feeling, the second, on the other hand, is more focused on Slovak and Moldovan folk roots with a subtle touch of jazz. Pacora Trio perform on major jazz and world music stages abroad (Israel, Czech Republic, Austria, Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Greece, Poland, Denmark) and have recorded several recordings for Czech and Slovak television and radio, Austrian ORF Radio as also for the film. The group was part of the WORLD MUSIC EXPO-WOMEX Selection 2015.
